Download WordCraft 0.5.0

Released October 11, 2026. Every link below points to the project’s GitHub release; nothing is re-hosted or repackaged here.

Don’t want to install anything? Run WordCraft in your browser. It is the same app, compiled to WebAssembly. Choose the desktop app for AutoSave, the fonts installed on your computer, settings and recent documents that are remembered, Read Aloud, the Zotero integration, and agent control over MCP.

Windows

Installers and executables are code-signed. The MSI installs for all users and needs administrator rights; the portable zip runs from any folder. Both include wordcraft-cli, the command-line tool and MCP server.

FreeBSD

If the app doesn’t start on Windows

The Windows app draws with DirectX 12 by default. If it flashes up and quits, a graphics driver may be the cause; the project’s README explains how to pick another backend with the WGPU_BACKEND environment variable (for example vulkan) and where the log file is.

Verify your download

Each release publishes a SHA256SUMS.txt file. Compare it with the checksum of your file, for example shasum -a 256 wordcraft-0.5.0-macos-universal.dmg on macOS or Get-FileHash in PowerShell.
